Larry Darter is an American writer of fiction, primarily of the mystery/detective genre. He is best known for the five novels written about Los Angeles private detective Ben Malone. More than twelve thousand copies of his first Malone novel, Come What May, have been downloaded from Amazon alone.

Darter has another ongoing series based on an individual character. He has written two novels based on the character T.J. O’Sullivan, a female New Zealand expat who is a private detective in Honolulu.

As a retired police officer with more than twenty years service, Larry’s firsthand knowledge of law enforcement tactics and criminal investigations lends unique authenticity to his crime fiction novels. Darter is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army Reserves. He holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of Central Oklahoma. He currently lives in Southern Oklahoma.
