Dark Sky Falling is a suspense-filled psychological thriller that promises to keep you guessing until the last page.
The Enemy In His Own Home… Tonight Marcus stepped back into the world of dating for the first time since his wife died three years ago. Things are going well. Interesting conversation with an attractive woman, first-rate food and even better wine. Life is good again. What Marcus doesn’t know is that his nanny has just abducted his daughter. To Russia.
A Relative Bent on Revenge… The girl was eleven years old and her name was Alyssa, but Kamila never called her by her name. The time would come when the girl was no longer useful, and it would be easier if Kamila didn’t think of her name, or that the girl was her niece.
Marcus’ nanny is his ex-sister-in-law, a survivor of war crimes in her home country. No one is safe, not even her niece, when Kamila’s lingering trauma–and desire for revenge–drive her to destroy everything and everyone around her.
Marcus rounded the corner into the cul-de-sac.
Kamila’s car was missing.
The porch lights were off, the entire house hidden behind a veil of black and gray.
A Father’s Relentless Pursuit… Marcus isn’t about to entrust Alyssa’s fate to a slow-moving legal system that has no authority beyond the borders of the United States. Standing between Marcus and Alyssa are corrupt Embassy staff, Chechen rebel fighters, and the Russian Army. Marcus and his long-time friend and newfound romantic interest, Stormy, chase Kamila to Moscow, across the Russian countryside, and eventually into the heart of a territory controlled by Kamila’s father, a rebel leader who is the last man Marcus expects to offer help.
In time, the girl would learn to fend for herself, because in Chechnya you were on your own, living or dying by your own strength and cunning, especially if you were woman. Sometimes that meant taking risks, or taking from others.
Will Marcus and Stormy find Alyssa before Kamila gives in to her darkest thoughts? What drives Kamila’s deep-seated hatred of Marcus? Dark Sky Falling is a suspense-filled psychological thriller that promises to keep you guessing until the last page.
Great read! Complex characters, suspenseful plot with an unexpected ending. – Mary Schatz
A great story line. I found myself caught up in each character; and wanted to know more and not put it down and sad when it was finished. It needs a sequel; I want to know how the rest of their lives played out. It’s one of those few books that I didn’t want to put down; that I wanted to know how it ended, but sad when I finished it. One worth reading again. I’m looking forward to reading more books by this author. – Lovesrock
The book tells a story of love and and life’s sorrows. I didn’t want to stop reading it to find out what was going to happen next to the characters. I recommend this book to all. – Harvey VanCleave
